Do you feel there will be a cure for panic disorder?

I have had this 20+ years. There is no cure. I know that it comes and goes but never stays away. How can this be, that they say it can be controlled yet they don’t want us to us tranquilizers for long term care. They help us. I have only used them on bad days and might have to the rest of my life. My dr. says they are safe. And yeah, we may get physically addicted but its better than having panic. Its called rescue meds. I cannot tolerate any other meds for panic. So please understand this is a vicious cycle kind of disorder and way more understanding is so much appreciated in the er or where ever we freak out. I feel we are Highly sensitive people. Google that at HSP. Do we need a shrink? With my experience, meds made me even sicker, another er visit, and we are not mental emergencies. We are sensitive. And who can afford to try all those different treatment options. We have to be on social security disability, a fixed income. I had to leave a good job years ago. Do you agree?

I have a panic/anxiety disorder, I feel that medication has helped me so much and i can make it through the day without a panic attack, but that’s just what works for me.
I feel that sometimes people do need a shrink for this because it helps them to manage and make it through things.
I think medication’s best because you take it daily and it lowers your symptoms, but different things work for different people.
